We were hit by Hurricane Katrina in August. She saved her worst for the gulf, but we still had to prepare. We started by strapping down the shed.
Then we gathered our hurricane kit and supplies.
We flipped over the patio furniture to make it less aerodynamic.
We dropped the storm shutters, but we didn't put up the plywood this time.

Mike is pretty unhappy about taking out the window airconditioner in the back room.

Time to start bringing stuff inside.

It's a good thing that this room can hold a lot of stuff.
The first hurricane injury did not belong to Mike this time around.
Clouds starting to gather.

We watched her come closer on the radar.
Wind and rain.
It's blowing pretty hard here.
Mike's doing something unsafe and going outside during the hurricane.

Pouring rain

Mike celebrates his new generator, that allowed us to have electricity during the storm, by pouring some Captain Morgan into the blender...

The sky says that it's not quite over yet.
It wouldn't be a hurricane if Mike didn't get on the roof sometime in the middle of it.
A.C. slept through the storm.
The next evening, the skies were clear.
Andie and Sydney are happy that it's all over.
