Well Thanksgiving has passed and another Holiday shopping season is upon us…….Is anyone else surprised at how fast the year went? Seems like just yesterday Mike and I were celebrating our first Thanksgiving in Florida. And here we are again……..The major difference this year…and I really don’t mean to rub it in……is that I am finished with all my Christmas shopping…….(pardon me while I ………………nanananana…….) Sorry I’m not sure what came over me…….. This year there will be no rushing around to find just the right gift……because I’ve already done it……No last minute trips to the Post off ice to stand in line for 2 hours to ship presents……I really don’t mean to gloat but I’ve never known the pleasure of not having to battle Holiday crowds…….I’m really enjoying it. This year I can enjoy the Holidays……not dread them…….And get this…….. I’ve already got the house decorated for Christmas…….This has an added bonus because Mike had to get into that attic to get all the decorations down……. I got to see him in the rubber knee pads again…and who wouldn’t want to see that….but seriously we’ve been so productive lately…..we did cancel to garage sale…but we gave all the stuff to our neighbor to sell in his which went to benefit the Boy Scouts…….so we were more than happy to do that….. Not to mention the fact that Mike and I were able to sleep in that morning instead of greet half of South Florida at 6:00 in the morning…..so it all worked out and it was all good……..

Since Mike went into a rant about the election…I suppose I should say a few words……..And those words are….OY VEY…….. This has all turned into what Mike would call a “cluster f**k” his word not mine…..It’s just the perfect phrase to describe the situation…..I think the point that a lot of people are missing in the shadow of the whole Florida recount nonsense is …….what does all this say about the candidates…… the only reason this election was so close in the first place was because people we just trying to decide which candidate was the lesser of the two evils…lets be brutally honest……was Anyone really happy about who they voted for…….were either of the candidates really worthy of the job……I think this whole recount speaks volumes about a subject that most people are missing……. People are blaming the state of Florida…but all we’re doing is dragging out Indecision 2000…in all honesty it could have been any of the big swing states…the whole country was pretty torn as to which candidate was less of a sniveling idiot…But all the focus is on Florida now…Florida the state where your vote counts…. and counts…and counts…….

I’m done ranting now……Happy Thanksgiving……and Happy Shopping…… I’ll be thinking of you while I’m sitting on the patio, having a cocktail, and being thankful most of all for on-line shopping.
